The Georgia Public Service Commission approved Georgia Power's Customer Identified Resource (CIR) program on April 7, 2026, allowing large commercial and industrial customers to contract directly with renewable developers and deliver clean energy to the grid — with RECs and energy value credits. Program cap: up to 3,000 MW through 2035. Represents the majority of Georgia Power's 4 GW renewable procurement target through 2035. Informally called the BYONCE (bring your own clean energy) framework.
