Our Story
DealFlow is the successor to the original DealFlow newsletter published by kWh Analytics from 2017-2020, which was read by thousands of clean energy investment professionals worldwide.
The original newsletter established itself as the go-to source for weekly clean energy deal intelligence, tracking M&A, financing, PPAs, and tax credits across the sector. After sunsetting in 2020, there has been strong demand from the investment community to resurrect this valuable resource.
DealFlow.energy reestablishes this publication with a modernized platform that provides even more transparency, searchability, and analytics for clean energy professionals tracking market activity.
Our Methodology
Deal Sourcing
We monitor publicly available sources including press releases, SEC filings, news wire services, industry publications, and company announcements to identify clean energy transactions. Deals are verified before inclusion in our database.
Deal Verification
Each transaction is researched through multiple sources to confirm key details: parties involved, asset characteristics, deal value, technology type, and location. We cite original sources for full transparency.
Deal Categorization
Transactions are classified into four categories: M&A (mergers and acquisitions), Financing (debt and equity capital raises), PPAs (power purchase agreements), and Tax Credits (ITC and PTC transfers). Each deal is tagged with technology type, stage, location, and key financial metrics.
Weekly Publication
Every Monday, we publish a summary of the previous week's deals, organized by transaction type. The full database remains searchable and filterable year-round. Quarterly, we publish league tables ranking the most active market participants.
